First Wishlist Goal Hit Overnight! Preview of Episode 2's Soundtrack-->
almost 4 years ago
– Sat, Apr 24, 2021 at 02:44:06 PM
In case you missed it, yesterday we launched a new Steam page for the full version of Scarlet Hollow, where we'll be releasing all of our future episodes as Early Access updates. To reward folks for helping us get wishlists on this new page, we set up some mini-stretch goals that unlock new previews and merch. And y'all helped up hit our first goal on day one. If you were one of our backers who helped us hit that goal, thanks so much! If you haven't had the chance yet, there's still plenty of time to wishlist (and follow) our new page!
Without further ado, here's your first preview of Episode 2's soundtrack, with a relevant teaser image to boot!
Thanks again, and if you haven't yet, don't forget to check out our new page to wishlist and follow us! Each new wishlist and follow makes up stand out that much more in Steam's algorithm, so it'll make the release of Episode 2 that much bigger!
Best wishes,
~Abby and Tony
Wishlist Scarlet Hollow on Steam Early Access for Community Rewards!
– Thu, Apr 22, 2021 at 10:27:44 PM
Hey, folks!
Just popping in to give y'all a quick update on our release strategy for the rest of Scarlet Hollow, and to ask for a teensy li'l favor that would mean the world to us (Wishlist our new Steam page!) And don’t worry— none of this will affect what you’re getting and when you’re getting it.
We were originally planning to release Scarlet Hollow’s episodes as paid DLC for our free-to-play page on Steam. However, now that we’ve gotten a better handle on how to market video games, we realize making the full game DLC on a free page wouldn’t give us the all-too-valuable visibility Steam titles are able to get from special sales and discounts.
So we made a shiny new page for Steam Early Access, where we’ll be releasing our future episodes over time (the game will automatically update as new episodes are released). So instead of getting a Steam key for the season pass, you’ll be getting your key for this new page instead! For those of you who have held onto your Episode 1 saves, never fear-- they should be automatically imported for you.
At 1,000 Wishlists, we’re going to start sharing previews of that absolutely INCREDIBLE soundtrack Brandon’s been putting together for Episode 2.
At 2,500 Wishlists, we’re going to do a livestream (after Episode 2 comes out) where you can ask for a monster and we’ll draw it for you. LIVE.
At a whopping 5,000, we'll make a vinyl sticker of Tabitha’s Normal Smile™.
If Wishlists really start taking off, at 7,500 we’ll make an enamel Dustin pin!
If things go really gangbusters, at 10,000 we’ll making sure that every episode of Scarlet Hollow has at least one animated cutscene. (Spoiler alert, Episode 2 is already going to have an animated cutscene, and it's looking lovely (and eerie, of course).)
And if things go really really gangbusters, at 20,000, we’ll do an entirely new Kickstarter to make a plush of everyone’s favorite Drawer Opossum.
In all seriousness, though, thank you so much for for your constant support (and for smashing that Wishlist button.) Y'all are super rad.
Before we go, we also wanted to provide a quick update on Episode 2. The first half is done and fully playable (which means that way way more than half the work is done!) We’re still going to do our best to hit our end of May deadline, but we’ve also lost some time over the past couple of months to Life Stuff, vaccine side effects in particular, so depending on how the next month goes, we might need to push the release date back a week or two just to make sure that everything is as good as it can be before we release it-- more like early June than late May. So sorry about the delay!
We’re incredibly proud of how Episode 2 is turning out, though, and we can’t wait to share it with y’all.
Thank you all again much for your patience, support, and enthusiasm, and for making our game possible!

Hey folks! We're getting close to Episode 2's release, so we wanted to take a minute and give y'all an update on when and how you can expect to receive your rewards.
We made some changes to the sticker sheet and just put in the order! See the updated version below.
Dustin
We're ordering pins tomorrow! The ditchlings glow in the dark!
Pins and stickers will ship once they reach our warehouse. We'll let you know once they start getting mailed out.
The digital download link just went out for the Episode 1 soundtrack. If you're a backer who gets the soundtrack, have filled out your survey, and paid, check your email! You'll get a new soundtrack download for each new episode.
Game keys will go out shortly before Episode 2 comes out, so keep your eyes peeled for the end of May. Tentative release date for Episode 2 is May 31st.
We'll be doing postcards this summer following the release of Episode 2.
HD Wallpapers (BackerKit exclusive) will go out a week or two after Episode 2 releases, and we'll send out new packs to go alongside each Episode.
We'll reach out about original art tiers following the release of Episode 3, so y'all will have a chance to meet most of the cast before deciding who you want to be drawn with.
Art books will go out after the full game releases. We originally thought about sending out the digital art books piecemeal, but would like to be able to put things together as a thematic collection once everything's done.
Thanks again for all of your enthusiasm and support and for helping us bring our game to life!
